1. Why was Korea divided at the end of WWII?
Korea was occupied by Japan in 1910. During WWII their were 2 resistance groups, the Communists in the north, and the nationalists in the south.
After WWII, the Allies agreed that Korea would be divided into a communist north and a nationalist south, until free elections could be held. However, ultimately Stalin refused to let the north participate in the elections; the communist controlled northern area was declared independent as North Korea (Peoples Democratic Republic of Korea), under president and ex resistance leader Kim Sun II. In the south, the elections were won by Sanghman Rhee, who became President of South Korea (Republic of Korea).
So, Korea was split definitively into North and South in 1948, after the elections in the south. South Korea was officially declared in August, North Korea in September. The split came about firstly, because the communists controlled the north at the end of WWII, and secondly because Stalin refused to let the communist controlled part of the country participate in free elections.
In 1950, North Korea attacked South Korea, starting the Korean War. However, the peninsula was already divided into North and South Korea before this, as outlined above.

If the countries that supported North Korea were allies of the countries that supported South Korea during WWII why did they go to war in 1950?
1. Because as the United States wanted to destroy the Soviet Union, and they were being helped by china, the united states when against china and north Korea with some help of south Korea because of the dishonesty that china brought to the united states according to the trading policy treaty that china accepted for the united states. Also because the Korea was one politic view, when they came to be apart, the United States wanted to keep the use of democracy.
1. What were the basic differences between the governments of North and South Korea?
North is more controlled, and south has more freedom and rights. (Even some North Koreans say so)

Because communism and democracy do not work together. Everyone has different opinions and views.
1. When did the Korean War begin?
June 25, 1950.

Once Japan had lost control of Korea, it had to be split between the communists and democrats. The south and North Koreans were ok with each other being separated, but then both got to comfortable and North Korean got an urge to attack the south.

Mainly U.S. (democracy in the U.N. fought for South Korea, while the Russians (communists) fought on North’s side.

june 25, 1950. The North Koreans invaded South Korean, that’s when the U.N. leader Douglas Macarthur was sent to south Korean to help them.
Try to find the point where the South dominated almost all of Korea, then how north dominated almost all of South, And then Korea being staying half and half again.

How is the economy of North Korea doing when compared with the economy of South Korea? Compare the GDP of both countries.
North Korea, compared to South Korea, has a 5% of mostly everything that South Korea has. There GDP is really low, there budget is half of South Korea’s. They rarely use electricity, and their imports, exports aren’t much. And their use of oil and natural gas levels are unknown, or they don’t use any at all.
What is the human rights situation in North Korea?
After the Korean War, North Korea isolated from the rest of the world, and this country had being ruled by Kim Sun II and this man has had the people that live in North Korea under his ultimate control. So Kim Sun II makes ALL decisions that involve everything inside the DMZ.
How North Korea Starves Its People?
The leader of North Korea wants no contact with the outside world so they are very limited in food; they have factories for them to do whatever they can to do themselves. But that’s it, there may be just barely any import to the country.
How did the division of Korea affect the people of Korea?
Most of the people’s real feelings and thoughts about life have being corrupted do to the cruel North Korean leader, but the division, and establishment of North Korea should have never being created, because now people are being controlled and there freedom have has being ripped out of them in North Korea.
Why has President Bush called North Korea part of the "Axis of Evil?”
He experienced 2 of his own soldiers being slashed with an axe by North Korean soldiers when he was in his helicopter, so that is why he calls upon North Korea to be evil. He also has ______ that North Korea has possession of nuclear weapons.
What steps are being taken to reunite North and South Korea?
Because, one article about him, describes how he observed his own soldiers get killed by 2 North Korean soldiers with an axe. He also calls them this because of the possible cause that they could have nuclear weapons in their position. Within the axis of evil, Iran and Iraq are also included in there because of their multiply attempt to destroy the United States.
Do you think it is in the best interest of the United Stated for Korea to remain divided or to unite as one country? Why?
United States’ best interest would be to leave it as it is, because as they have shown, they just do NOT get along, at all. The United States takes the decision to not care about both country, and retreat its man, no one will get hurt, because the north doesn’t know anything.
Recommendation
For
Bush (Obama now) as a foreign policy against Korea, I recommend him to not let
those people from Korea to step foot in the United States, because these people
are officially brained washed with the sense that they must kill all Americans
on sight. If we let these North Korean to enter the United States, we may
definitely have a problem with the high Homeland Security levels of an attack.
Conclusion
We have
decided that the decisions made back in 1945 WILL affect the chances that
another 9/11 may happen. Because we fought the North Koreans to help out the
South Koreans, when they were being invaded by the north, the country
controlled by Kim son Il now hate American blood. Because the North knows that
we stopped them from controlling the South, they will stop at nothing to
fulfill their goal to destroy the American race. There is an extremely high
chance that there are operations going on in that country that will cause some
major problems in the future.
